A Career in Your Pocket
With the Sarcina app, any two users of will be able to exchange labor for pay according to the rules of their choosing immediately from anywhere in the world with privacy and security which cannot be matched by a conventional centralized “gig” app.
As a Sarcina user, you are not subject to KYC and are pseudonymous by default. Your information is only verified or publicised to the extent you choose, and your use of the app to earn a living or conduct your business cannot be censored or suppressed by design.
A Protocol for Work
The heart of Sarcina is the Line Protocol; an extensible, trustless system for negotiating, executing, and settling contracts in real time without exposing their details to the blockchain.
Sarcina uses blockchain technology for what it is best at: determining ownership and settling payments, while relying on human users to handle what they are best at: perceiving and responding to the subtle, complex, or ambiguous events in the real world.
An API for Companies
The Line Protocol is not limited to two-party exchanges, however.
Lines may be nested and interlinked as needed to administer any business structure from a one-truck lawnmowing business to a multinational conglomerate.
With Sarcina’s templating capability, standard business organizations and transactions can be created as quickly as the parties can review and accept the terms on their personal devices, with the resulting structure cryptographically enforced and secured from tampering.
Core Technology
A Line describes an offer of services and all conditions to be met for a valid contract to connect two users.
The Sarcina Engine in each user’s local client interprets the Line file and enforces that user’s interests as the connection proceeds.
A Micropayment Channel ensures each user is continuously recieving the funds or services to which they are entitled.
Once the connection is complete, performance data is credited to each user in the Sarcina Registry, where it is secure from tampering but its visiblity and level of anonymity are controlled by the user.
Suppression Resistance
Sarcina’s support services and Registry system will be hosted on the Internet Computer, reducing your exposure to surveillance or suppression through infrastructure providers.
It is our strict policy to never log users’ IP addresses or other identifying metadata, but we encourage technically sophisticated users to deploy their own Dfinity HTTP proxies if they desire further obfuscation of their network traffic to Sarcina’s central services.Cryptocurrency Settlement
Sarcina transactions are settled in crytocurrency with offerings denominated in US Dollars, balancing the convenience of our users with the need for anonymity and decentralization.
Sarcina will support settlement in Ethereum or Eth-based tokens initially, with support for other chains and cross-chain transactions planned for later releases.
A Needed Firebreak
- Sarcina allows you to hire or be hired under a persistent pseudonym (though it works equally well under your real name).
- Sarcina allows you to exchange value on the blockchain without the details of your business being exposed to the blockchain.
- Sarcina allows you to accumulate a third-party verified record of experience abstracted from the details of when, where, and with whom.
